Hamilton/Haldimand Healing Pathways

  • Reiki originated in the Japan as a method of self-healing. Healing occurs on the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual planes.
  • Reiki is a bio-energy technique used for drawing energy into the practitioner's body then transferring this energy into the body of another.
  • Once the practitioner has had a Reiki initiation, this above process happens automatically when hands are placed on a body.
  • The energy is safe and non-invasive, as one only has to lightly place his or her hands on the body or even just above it to transfer energy.
  • This energy will go right through a client's clothing, so they can remain dressed.
  • They may feel a warm, very relaxing sensation.
  • Reiki is a great stress reducer, and can help in the healing of many forms of dis-ease.
  • Reiki is not meant as a substitute for medical treatment.

Is Reiki a Religion?

Reiki is a universal form of healing energy that has no alliance with any religious practice. People of many faiths perform Reiki.

Can anyone learn Reiki?

Yes, every person is capable of learning and using Reiki. To activate the healing energy, a Reiki Master will pass on attunements to the initiate.

What type of people take Reiki courses?

People from all walks of life take Reiki courses. Each person has his or her own reasons. We have had a wide range of people take classes with us - a truck driver, dental professionals, massage therapists, an osteopath, a chiropractor - generally, anyone wishing to enhance his or her life would benefit from taking a course in Reiki.

Will I learn to heal people?

While it is true that Reiki is called a healing modality, it is important to realize that a Reiki practitioner is not doing the healing. The healing energy is channelled through the body of the practitioner. It is the client who allows the healing energy to flow where it is needed.
